Introducing 1Voice

Date: 15th July 2014

Posted on: 15-07-2014

A communication disability can be isolating for children and their families.  1Voice – Communicating Together is a national charity providing networking and support for children, young people and families who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). It started in 2001 and is run by a team of trustees and volunteers who are parents, role models and professionals.

Interested people become members of 1Voice – which is a free membership.  We support our members by meeting AAC users and their carers/families at national events, meet with 1Voice Role Models, practice our individual communication skills, socialise and have fun.  Our Role Models successfully use AAC in their lives and act to inspire children at our events.  We also have some branches around the country hosting local 1 day events.  We publish a newsletter 3 x year and have a website (www.1voice.info) as well as Facebook (1VoiceCT) and Twitter (1VoiceAAC)
