Lesley Trivedi

Following an initial career in IT, my journey as an SLT began in school and community settings.  I became independent in 2013 and since then my clinical focus has increasingly centred on Developmental Language Disorder and Social Communication.  My knowledge of DLD has been deepened by my perspective as a parent – my son was diagnosed in early childhood and continues to face challenges as an adult.  This year I have reduced my clinical work to focus on other objectives.

I have previously collaborated with RCSLT on projects addressing the specific needs of independent practitioners in areas such as data processing and student placements.  I bring a diverse range of other experiences including voluntary leadership and governance, and a 13-year stint as main carer/advocate for elderly relatives with complex health needs.

My chief goal as Acting Secretary is to ensure that ASLTIP maintains its standards of corporate governance as it evolves to meet the developing needs of our membership.

In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
