Dysarthria

Dysarthria

Dysarthria is a speech difficulty caused by changes in the brain affecting muscle control. It may result from stroke, head injury or conditions like Parkinson’s.

Speech may sound slurred, slow or effortful.

Speech and language therapists support clearer speech, safer eating and breathing for communication. They may also explore AAC.
