Sophie is an experienced Speech and Language Therapist, who has worked with adult clients with a range of complex communication and swallowing disorders throughout her career. This includes clients with acquired brain injuries, those with progressive neurological diagnoses and those with voice and swallowing changes following admissions to hospital intensive care. She has worked in hospital, community and rehabilitation settings, and focuses on individual, person-centred therapy. Sophie is able to offer advice and support for those reaching end-of-life, and to those making complex, long-term feeding decisions.
She has experience of assessing for and recommending alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) methods, including high and low-tech devices, and of working with patients with long-term tracheostomies.
Sophie is a competent nasendoscopist and has experience of videofluroscopy.
