My first degree was in Speech & Language Pathology and Therapeutics and after working across both adult and paediatric SLT, I specialised in the NHS adults field for over twenty years.
I have particular expertise in assisting with diagnosis and guiding management of swallowing disorders. I have a solid background in communication disorders and my Masters degree was in Human Communication. I see people with difficulties arising from many issues including progressive illnesses such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and brain injuries including stroke and traumatic brain injury. I have expertise in throat difficulties linked to emotional causes and offer a mindfulness-based approach to therapy where appropriate. I am able to provide training and clinical supervision. I ran a busy NHS early-years clinic for several years and am able to assist children with speech sound difficulties.
