I am an experienced paediatric speech and language therapist, having qualified at Reading University in 1984. I have treated children with a wide range of communication difficulties, including dyspraxia, dysarthria, specific language disorders, autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, Semantic Pragmatic Language Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, hearing impairment, literacy difficulties and dysphagia. I have worked in various settings, including community clinics, special schools and for 13 years in a non-maintained special school for children with communication difficulties and moderate learning difficulties. I have developed expertise with Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC). I also have experience as a professional witness at Special Educational Needs Tribunals.
ASLTIP’s membership has been growing rapidly since 1989. We are a support organisation run by our members. The executive board is always grateful for new members and new ideas.
