I have 22 years’ experience of supporting language acquisition and a range of communication difficulties within Hearing Impaired and Multicomplex Needs children and young adults. I also have three years experience of working for the NHS as a Speech and Language Therapist. I have experience of working in the primary, secondary and Further Education sector. I am British Sign Language trained and hold the Deafblind Manual Interpreters Qualification. I am trained to use the PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) approved programme and have attended a short Bobath course. I am also a qualified ‘smiLE’ Therapist. My specialist interests include Language Difficulties associated with Complex Needs, Augmentative and Alternative Communication, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Down’s syndrome, Hearing Impairment and Visual Impairment.
