I am the Lead Speech and Language Therapist at Starjumpz Children’s Centre which provides private multi-disciplinary assessment and therapies, as well as contracted work for local authorities in the South East.
I am experienced in working with a wide range of children including children on the Autistic Spectrum ASD, PMLD profound and multiple learning difficulties, Dyspraxia, articulation disorders, children with language delay and children with attention control difficulties such as ADD, ADHD, Auditory Processing Disorder APD and Sensory Processing Difficulties.
I have worked with children with Dysphagia setting up eating and drinking programmes. I am trained in the ADOS assessment of Autism which I offer in conjunction with a Paediatrician. I work with children who are looked after or adopted and provide the Speech and Language therapy expertise in the specialist post adoption service at Starjumpz.
I have experience of running Lego therapy and other social communication skill groups. I run holiday sensory play and communication groups with an Occupational Therapist.
I work both at Starjumpz Children’s Centre and within homes, schools and nurseries in the South East.
Starjumpz is a holistic multidisciplinary paediatric centre with excellent facilities for individual work, sensory integration therapy and group activities.
I will often use a sensory approach in my work to facilitate a child’s attention and engagement. I work jointly with Occupational Therapists and other professionals as needed.
I have experience in assessment of children for EHCP plans and in tribunal work.
My therapy sessions are highly individual and work towards specific targets set for each child. Where possible and appropriate, therapy will link into school work. Activities are fun and take into account children’s specific interests. Where appropriate, therapy activities are presented as games or play. I advise parents and teachers on how to maximise the impact of therapy sessions with home and school programmes and guidance.
I can provide training to parents and teachers and well as to health care providers.
