Independent Speech and Language Therapy Services for schools and early years settings in the west of Leicestershire, established by Kate in 2015. Settings can commission a bespoke, multi-tiered speech and language therapy service, built around their specific requirements. This can include specialist assessment and intervention for specific pupils, targeted group interventions, workforce development and training to support universal approaches, and supporting parents to build strong language foundations at home. Qualifying in 2002, Kate worked in the NHS until 2016. She has a wide range of clinical experience and supports pupils with speech, language and communication needs including: Developmental Language Disorder; speech sound disorder; selective mutism and AAC needs (augmentative and alternative communication). Kate is an accredited and passionate Word Aware trainer and advocate of communication friendly classrooms. She aims to empower teachers / senior leaders to develop whole-school approaches which enrich pupils’ language for access to learning (and life!)
