Emma is an experienced SLT (30 years) having worked with adults with communication/ swallowing disorders, both in the UK (NHS) and in Kenya. Working with Kenyan multilingual, multicultural communities and healthcare teams for 14 years supported a wholehearted belief in person centred care. Emma designs therapy for individuals, aiming to work within the persons own cultural/ language environment with collaboration (as appropriate) from family, carers and other professionals. She is comfortable working with a wide range of SLT diagnoses and medical conditions affecting adults. Working as an Independent SLT, allows in depth work and intensive therapy (for example, LSVT Loud, comprehensive aphasia therapy) as needed, in locations suitable for the client (or by teletherapy) using evidence based practise to effect real change for the person within the context of their family and environment.
