I have been practising as a speech and language therapist for 30 years in a variety of settings, both private and NHS. I currently work with adults experiencing a wide range of communication difficulties. I can help with acquired communication disorders such as dysphasia, dyspraxia and dysarthria following stroke/head injury/neurological disease/functional neurological disorder. I also work with communication difficulties arising from deafness, cerebral palsy , stammering and confidence problems. I will really listen, and work alongside you to bring you more control over your communication skills. Using recently acquired psychotherapy training, my approach is strongly directed towards management of complex and often debilitating emotions such as grief, anxiety, anger and depression. So I will hope to enable you with more than speech/language skills: in addition I aim to support you with management strategies and tools to benefit your emotional wellbeing. See www.lismenary.co.uk for further information.
