I am a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist working with adults with neurological conditions, voice disorders or developmental stammering. I qualified with a BSc (Hons) In Speech and Language Therapy from the University of Manchester in 2008 with a high 2:1 and a distinction in clinical practice. I have 12 years of extensive experience of assessing and managing communication and swallowing disorders in people with neurological conditions.

I have worked in a variety of settings: 7 years in the NHS as a Speech and Language Therapist and Specialist Speech and Language Therapist working with adults in the acute and community settings with experience in stroke, brain injury and progressive neurological conditions.

I also have gained a wider experience and knowledge working as a Support co-ordinator at a leading Neurological charity for 3 years with a focus on communication support. I have then worked in private practice as the clinical lead for NPP Neuro Group for 2.5 years developing and managing the service and assessing and treating patients. I am now in Independent practice with specialist expertise in the assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders in adults with neurological conditions, voice disorders and developmental stammering in adults. I see patients in their own homes, or in nursing and residential homes covering the West Midlands, Worcestershire and Warwickshire.

I work in a person-centred and holistic way tailoring treatment plans to suit the specific needs of every individual. I am very passionate about the field in which I work and believe that a significant difference can be made to patients and their family’s lives using a wide variety of techniques and approaches. I make it my priority to keep my skills and knowledge up to date by attending training courses in relevant areas of interest. I am also interested in counselling which are useful within my practice and have been trained in basic counselling skills, Brief solution focussed therapy, the principles of CBT, Mindfulness and Motivational interviewing.
