I am a fully qualified speech and language therapist with 10 years experience working with children and adults with speech, language and communication needs, their families and the staff who support them.
I studied Psychology before working as an Assistant Speech and Language Practitioner with adults who had acquired conditions such as stroke, cancer, Parkinson’s disease. This role inspired me to complete my post-graduate training at University College London and since I have loved being a Speech and Language Therapist and working with people with communication difficulties’.
I have worked in primary schools and nurseries, community teams for adults with learning disabilities, and higher education and residential colleges providing intervention for communication and swallowing needs (Dysphagia). I have worked both in public and independent services.
Special Interest Areas: Autism Spectrum Condition, Social communication and interaction, Language Disorders, Phonological Speech Disorders and supporting assessment for Mental Capacity.
ASLTIP’s membership has been growing rapidly since 1989. We are a support organisation run by our members. The executive board is always grateful for new members and new ideas.
