I am extremely passionate about enabling people to reach their communicative potential. Over the years working within education (SEN school and specialist college), I have had experience of working with a range of complex disabilities such as profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), autism and trauma. I have a keen interest in AAC. I am an advocate for neurodiversity affirming practice and believe that trust is imperative to effective therapy, especially with young people, so I ensure I take time to build a therapeutic relationship. Prior to becoming a speech and language therapist, I worked within the NHS as an administrator. I also volunteered in Cape Town, South Africa for three months.
