I am an experienced SLT (18+ years in NHS) working in the Derry/Donegal area. I specialise in working with Adults/young people with a Learning/Intellectual Disability and/or Autism as well as Adults with Dementia or other Mental Health Conditions. I am both a Regional Makaton Tutor and highly skilled in the management of Dysphagia (Difficulties with Eating, Drinking, Swallowing). I am passionate about kind, sensitive, trauma informed support for people with communication differences. I have a particular interest in supporting Autistic people experiencing distress and overwhelm. I focus on each persons unique communication strengths and support the people I work with and their families through neuro-affirming care. Understanding each individuals lived experience is central to my work and approach. I have HCPC and CORU Registration, enabling me to support people 1:1 in clinic or in their work/school/ home environment either side of the Derry/Donegal border . Bespoke training also available.
