Morwenna has 34 years’ experience, specialising exclusively in high-value medico-legal work. She is instructed in cases involving medical negligence, brain injury and/ or catastrophic injury, with particular expertise in identifying subtle, complex and difficult-to-quantify communication and swallowing impairments.
Her practice focuses on robust, evidence-based assessment where the clinical picture is nuanced or contested. She is skilled in analysing cognitive-communication disorders and executive dysfunction, providing clear, defensible opinion on functional impact to assist The Court.
Morwenna has worked across regional brain injury units and community rehabilitation services. She holds a PhD in respiratory assessment in dysphagia and completed her post-doctoral research in brain–computer interface applications in aphasia.
She provides expert reports nationally and internationally, including for the Coroner’s Court, and undertakes intermediary, safeguarding and fitness-to-practise work. She is a committee member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists Medico-Legal Clinical Excellence Network.
