Clare is a Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist who specialises in Adult Neurology. She graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2013, and has over 10 years experience working in the NHS. Clare continues to work at the National Hospital of Neurology & Neurosurgery, leading the awake craniotomy service and managing a complex post neuro-surgical caseload.
Clare has highly specialist skills in the assessment and management of complex swallowing and communication impairments. She has developed these skills within a range of areas, including; stroke, surgery, traumatic brain injury, neuro-oncology, and progressive neurology conditions such as Parkinson’s disease. Clare has also worked with clients with cerebral palsy, supporting access to Augmentative or Alternative Communication (AAC).
Clare has a passion for working with clients, and families, to achieve goals and improve quality of life. She has a keen interest in support Mental Capacity Assessments and advocating for clients with communication difficulty.
