I am a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapist working in Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) which includes everything from signing to paper and powered communication aids.
Until 2024, I worked in NHS children’s services for 16 years, across special schools and specialist early years settings. I work with children and young people with a range of conditions including acquired brain injuries, learning difficulties and Autism.
My passion is helping children/young people find a means of communicating, where someone may be non-speaking or requiring AAC to augment their spoken language. Therapy focuses on functional communication to foster independence and empowers families and settings to be supportive communication partners.
I am an advocate for providing children/young people with the opportunity to listen to their views and ensure they have a voice to make decisions and determine their own path. I am an Associate Tutor for Talking Mats.
