I graduated with an MSc in Speech and Language Therapy from the University of Reading. After qualifying as an SLT I worked in paediatric services supporting children with ASD, DLD and related conditions in mainstream schools, following which I transferred to adult community services where I specialised in neurorehabilitation and was the service lead for adult dysfluency (stammering and cluttering). I have a special interest in communication recovery after brain injury and I am currently pursuing a PhD in aphasia rehabilitation at UCL.
I have significant experience assessing and treating clients with communication and swallowing difficulties caused by acute and progressive neurological conditions (stroke, traumatic brain injury, dementia, MND, Parkinson’s, epilepsy etc.). I have worked in a range of settings, including community clinics, schools/colleges, patients’ homes, rehabilitation wards and care homes. More recently, I have extended my practice into medico-legal work for clients with acquired brain injuries.
