I’m a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist who works in outdoor alternative provisions, as well as in mainstream and specialist schools. When a young person is learning outdoors, it makes sense to support their communication and interaction outdoors too. Rather than using separate exercises or simulations, and then trying to generalize skills back into everyday activities, I prefer to join in with what the young person is already doing, whether that’s grooming a horse, planting tomatoes or building a treehouse.
I have an MSc in Speech & Language Sciences from University College London and a BA in English & Modern Languages from the University of Oxford. English is my first language and I’m also fluent in German and Afrikaans.
I live in Bushy Park, south west London, with my husband, two teenage sons, two cats, and a dog.
