I am a highly experienced HCPC registered and practising NHS Speech and Language Therapist (SLT), with over 30 years expertise within acute and community Adult SLT Services for Dementia, and a range of acquired neurological conditions including acute stroke services, stroke rehabilitation, progressive neurological conditions, memory assessment, and community mental health teams. My practice is grounded in implementing evidence-based practice to support adults with changes in communication, eating, drinking and swallowing. This also encompasses the development of dementia care policies, related audits, training packages and guides for both paid staff and family carers.
I have a deep understanding of changes to the brain and person-centred care. In addition to my HCPC speech and language therapy qualification, I have a higher education teaching certificate, and I am also a level 7 qualified executive coach, Dementia Care Mapper (DCM®), and Teepa Snow accredited trainer (PAC™).
