Claire Whittaker
With over 24 years of Paediatric experience, Claire has worked in numerous GP clinics, Primary schools, Private Practices and also, more recently, in a school for hearing impaired children. Claire has worked with literally hundreds of children and worked with a range of disabilities including:
● Delayed or disordered speech sound development resulting in poor intelligibility
● Delayed or disordered expressive and/or receptive language
● Delay in young children beginning to speak (18 months+)
● Stammering
● Lisps and other articulation disorders
● Social skills and communication difficulties
● Auditory processing difficulties
● Hearing impairment
● Auditory rehabilitation work following cochlear implants
● Attention difficulties
● Dysfluency (stammering)
● Oral-motor difficulties
Claire has also recently taken a special interest in adults with acquired neurological difficulties following a stroke or trauma to the brain.
