Claire qualified as a Speech and Language therapist from Reading University (with a degree in Linguistics and Language Pathology) in 1997. With over 24 years of Paediatric experience, Claire has worked in numerous GP clinics, Primary schools, Private Practices and also, more recently, in a school for hearing impaired children. Claire has worked with literally hundreds of children and worked with a range of disabilities including:
● Delayed or disordered speech sound development resulting in poor intelligibility
● Delayed or disordered expressive and/or receptive language
● Delay in young children beginning to speak (18 months+)
● Stammering
● Lisps and other articulation disorders
● Social skills and communication difficulties
● Auditory processing difficulties
● Hearing impairment
● Auditory rehabilitation work following cochlear implants
● Attention difficulties
● Dysfluency (stammering)
● Oral-motor difficulties
Claire has also recently taken a special interest in adults with acquired neurological difficulties following a stroke or trauma to the brain.
