I am an experienced paediatric speech and language therapist, having qualified at Reading University in 1984. I have worked with children and young adults (up to the age of 25 years) with a wide range of communication difficulties, including Developmental Language Disorders, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, dyspraxia, dysarthria, Cerebral Palsy, hearing impairment, literacy difficulties, learning difficulties, and dysphagia. I have worked in various settings, including community clinics, special schools and for 13 years in a non-maintained special school for children with communication difficulties and moderate learning difficulties. Since 2008, alongside delivering therapy to a small number of clients, I have developed my skills in relation to in-depth assessments to inform the writing of Education, Health and Care Plans and appeals to the First Tier SEND Tribunal; and as an expert witness at SEND Tribunals.
ASLTIP’s membership has been growing rapidly since 1989. We are a support organisation run by our members. The executive board is always grateful for new members and new ideas.
