I have been working for over 13 years in independent practice and within the NHS at a senior level as a Speech and Language Therapist. I specialise in adult swallowing and communication difficulties following a neurological event such as a stroke or brain injury. I have experience in child speech and language delay and disorders and I also work with clients who have progressive neurological conditions such as dementia and Parkinson’s disease.

I offer comprehensive assessment and treatment of acquired neurological speech and language impairments such as aphasia, cognitive communication difficulties, dysarthria and apraxia and children’s speech and language delay. I can provide regular therapy, if required, and this can include activities that the client does in their own time or with family and/or carers to complement session work. I see client’s within their own homes or care homes.

I am also able to offer adult dysphagia (swallowing) assessments within a client’s home and can develop an appropriate care plan from my bedside assessment, including liaising with other key professionals involved in the client’s care and providing training to family and carers.
I am a member of the British Aphasiology Society and continue to develop my specialist skills thorough regular attendance at relevant courses, study days, professional supervision and clinical excellence networks.

Due to my extensive experience of providing clinical supervision within the NHS, I am also able to offer clinical supervision to Speech and Language Therapists or students as well.

Please take a look at my website www.CISLT.com for more details.
