I had a further chat with my husband about it – as he writes the complaints responses, He did say in future you could apologise in the sense of I am sorry you feel that our therapist did not do bla bla bla however we are satisfied that her actions were timely, accurate and appropriate.

He says that may get around the whole he wants an apology , as you aren’t making an apology about your actions you are making an apology that he feels in a certain way, but yes you need to formally close it which then means you no longer need to respond.
