Reply To: Local authority assurance monitoring visit

Rachel Galvez

I live in East Yorkshire and haven’t had a visit before but have gone through a quality assurance review of my provision in the past (in line with the quality management process of the contracts I have with the LA). There were a lot of policies, procedures and documents that they required that were just not applicable and this was fine.

It wasn’t worded quite the same as ‘alternative provisions’ – it is a process they follow for all of their ‘commissioned provision’ just to establish the child/young person’s needs are being matched to the services I deliver.

I did have to do a bit of work gathering everything together but it was a good thing in the end – made me update all my policies (child protection and safeguarding policies, lone working policy, health and safety, equality, diversity and inclusion, etc)
