Reply To: Safeguarding suspicions with an adult dysphasia/dyspraxia client


Many years ago I had a patient who had 2 different facial movement as her only means of communication tell me that she was being roughly handled by members of staff in her nursing home. I told the manager who basically did not believe me. I also told her family. I don’t believe it was handled correctly but I was totally locked out of any further investigations (if indeed there were any). It was a very complex situation and the patient was terribly vulnerable.
