Thank you so much for all the ideas and offers to talk! Much appreciated. I may contact several of you over the next few months.

I especially like Chris’s analogy of going to the gym. I think it’s very true that schools often understand the benefits of a school commissioned service but are not able to fully commit to what is required, for a variety of reasons.
And that is the heart of the issue at the school I am having issues with; the senior leadership recognise the benefits of speech therapy and are supportive on paper, but the pressure on teachers and LSAs is huge, particularly to catch up post COVID, and speech therapy often gets squeezed out.
