Carol Sacchett wrote a paper for Aphasia – this is brilliant in terms of giving ideas – starting with core shapes and adding key identifying features. Eg start with a circle and what do you need to add to make it into a clock, watch, bicycle wheel, football etc. Drawing items within categories …

I have used drawing a few times for adults and always return to that paper.
