I realise that you are probably working with the adult population but this book may still be of interest as many of those adults will have had various experiences of speech therapy as children:

This is a short book written by the Mother of a child who stammers – it’s a very thought provoking read and I think feeds into the current narrative around seeing stammering as a difference rather than a deficit, with a focus on acceptance above fluency. It made me think more widely about what messages we may be giving without realising when working with clients and their families.
