I have been a practicing speech and language therapist for over 30 years, firstly within the NHS and for the last 16 years independently, at Speech Symbol and Sign. I work and play with children of all abilities and ages. I have lots of experience with preschool and school age children with special educational needs, promoting all forms of communication: speech, symbols/pictures/objects and sign. Where communication is severely impaired I can help introduce technology based systems if appropriate, reducing frustration and giving  the child so much more control.  I also enjoy working with preschool and school age children of mainstream ability, who have  difficulties with learning to talk, putting words together or pronouncing words. I prefer to provide therapy face to face, but I have also found providing therapy online can be very effective. I am happy to have a chat on the phone to give advice or arrange therapy.
