I am a Speech and Language Therapist based in West Yorkshire currently combining NHS work with Independent practice. I have 12 years of experience working in the NHS providing a specialist speech therapy service to patients with acquired and progressive neurological disorders. These conditions include Stroke, Brain Injury, Parkinson’s disease, Motor Neuron disease and Dementia.
I work with clients who have difficulties with speech, language and swallowing as a result of these conditions. This will involve comprehensive assessment and subsequent treatment; therapy plans are put together to suit individual needs and can be delivered in the home environment or work place (where appropriate). I work closely with clients’ family and friends to ensure a holistic approach to my work.
My specialist interest area is Dysphagia (difficulty in swallowing) with a particular focus on Dysphagia rehabilitation using evidence based treatment plans.
Furthermore, I have experience of service development which includes swallowing and communication awareness training for medical and nursing teams as well as allied health professionals.
I am a bilingual therapist and can provide assessment and therapy in Urdu and Punjabi.
