Diploma SpLD (Dyslexia):
I focus on mainstream school children (mainly primary), many of whom have literacy difficulties in addition to speech and language impairment. Using a multi-sensory approach within a developmental language framework, I aim to build phonological (sound) awareness skills and effective reading strategies through a structured therapy programme linked to the English Curriculum.
I have experience working with complex children in mainstream, special schools and units, addressing developmental gaps in language and literacy sub-skills which impact on educational progress. I am interested in collaborating with Teachers and Assistants to develop language and literacy groups within schools.
