I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2008 and specialise in working with Early Years, Primary and Secondary school-aged children with a range of communication needs including speech disorder, difficulties understanding and/or using language (including Developmental Language Disorder), Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Difficulties, Down’s Syndrome and social communication needs.
I work closely with families alongside educational setting staff and other professions to ensure there is a collaborative approach towards helping each child meet their full communicative potential. As well as offering individually tailored assessment, therapy, reports and advice, I am also able to provide specific training to parents/guardians/educational setting staff to help them gain greater understanding of communication skills, barriers and strategies and therefore better support the needs of the individual child. Assessment, therapy and training is available in face to face and/or telehealth sessions (via Zoom) and both delivery modes are tailored to meet the individual client’s/family’s needs.
I originally set up my business in the Bournemouth area (Dorset) before moving to Hampshire where I now support families in the Gosport/Portsmouth areas. Whilst I still support my current Dorset based families, please note that I am no longer taking on any new clients in the Dorset area for face to face direct input. I am, however, able to offer my telehealth provision for any new families outside of Gosport/Portsmouth.
