Cara Bethell

Picture of Conference and Events Director: Cara Bethell

I entered my Bachelor degree (Psychology with Ergonomics) with a keen interest in human behaviour and interaction. For my year in industry I worked for the Rail Safety Standards Board who sponsored my final year dissertation. I researched and developed safety signage for children – Arriva Trains Wales implemented the findings into developed signage and my work was published – something which I am still very proud of.

I went on to study at City University and have been working as a Speech and Language Therapist for 10 years. After working for the NHS and Local Authority, I moved to Independent Practice in 2022.

I am conscientious and organised – family, friends and colleagues all comment on how much I love a colour-coded spreadsheet!

As a Director of the Board, I am passionate to drive the future development and direction of ASLTIP’s events and annual conference, supporting growth and continual improvement.

Outside of the world of speech therapy, I love spending time with my family, grabbing a coffee with friends, reading a good book and going to the theatre.
